Resize images to exact pixel dimensions or popular presets — Instagram, YouTube thumbnails, profile pictures, and more. Lock the aspect ratio, choose how the image fits, and export crisp results without ever uploading a file.

How to use Image Resizer

  1. 1Add the images you want to resize.
  2. 2Enter a width and height, or pick a social/standard preset.
  3. 3Choose a fit mode — crop to fill, fit inside, or stretch.
  4. 4Download the resized images individually or as a ZIP.

Resizing for social media and the web

Each platform expects specific dimensions: 1080×1080 for an Instagram square, 1280×720 for a YouTube thumbnail, 1500×500 for a Twitter/X header. Pick a preset and Primova sets the dimensions for you, then crops or fits the image to match exactly so it is not rejected or awkwardly cropped on upload.

For website images, resizing to the actual display size before uploading is one of the simplest ways to speed up a page — there is no point serving a 4000px image into a 600px slot.

Fit modes explained

“Crop to fill” fills the target box completely and trims whatever overflows — best for fixed-size thumbnails and avatars. “Fit inside” keeps the entire image visible without cropping, which can leave the final dimensions slightly different from your target. “Stretch” forces the exact size but can distort the image, so use it only when the source and target aspect ratios already match.

Frequently asked questions

Never. Resizing happens on your device using the browser’s canvas, so the original file stays local — even confidential screenshots or client work never leave your computer.
Keep the aspect-ratio lock on, or use “Fit inside” so the whole image is preserved. “Crop to fill” fills the exact dimensions by trimming the edges, which is ideal for fixed-size social posts.
Yes — use a preset (e.g. 1080×1080 for square, 1280×720 for 16:9) or type any width and height you need. The tool warns you when your target ratio differs from the source.
It can, but enlarging beyond the original resolution will look soft because there’s no extra detail to add. For best results, resize down rather than up.
No — it’s completely free with no account and no limit on how many images you resize.
