Pull specific pages out of a PDF, or break one document into several — visually, with a thumbnail of every page. Click the pages you want for a single combined PDF, split each page into its own file, or define custom ranges. Everything happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

How to use PDF Splitter

  1. 1Drop in a PDF to see every page rendered as a thumbnail.
  2. 2Pick a mode: Extract chosen pages, Each page separately, or Custom ranges.
  3. 3In Extract mode, click pages to select them — shift-click for a range, or zoom any page to read it first.
  4. 4Click Split and download a single file or grab them all at once.

Extract pages vs. split into ranges

Extract mode is for the common case — “I just need pages 3 to 5 of this report.” Click the pages you want and you get one new PDF containing exactly those, in order. Custom ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5, 7-9) is for breaking one document into several files at once, where each range becomes its own download. Each page separately is the fastest way to turn an N-page PDF into N single-page files.

Not sure which page is which? Click the magnifier on any thumbnail to open a full-size, high-resolution preview, and use the arrow keys to flip through the document before you choose.

Quality and privacy

Splitting copies pages exactly as they are — text stays selectable, links keep working, and images keep their original resolution, with no re-compression. Because the PDF is processed entirely on your device with pdf-lib, sensitive documents like contracts, bank statements, and medical records never leave your computer.

Frequently asked questions
