Remove the hidden metadata baked into your photos — GPS coordinates, camera model, capture date, software, and author — before you post or send them. Drop in one image or a whole batch, see exactly what each file is leaking (including a map link for any location data), strip it locally, and download the cleaned files. Nothing is ever uploaded.

How to use EXIF Stripper

  1. 1Drop in one or more JPG, PNG, or WebP images.
  2. 2Review what each file reveals — sensitive fields like GPS and camera are flagged.
  3. 3Click “Strip all metadata” to re-encode every image with the metadata removed.
  4. 4Download a single cleaned file, or grab them all as a ZIP.

What your photos quietly reveal

Most cameras and phones embed EXIF metadata in every photo: the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken, the device make and model, the date and time, the editing software, and sometimes an author or copyright name. When you share that file directly — on a forum, a marketplace listing, or a support ticket — all of that travels with it. The location data alone can pinpoint your home or workplace to within a few metres.

Primova reads these fields out for you and flags the identifying ones. When an image carries GPS coordinates, you get a “view on map” link so you can see for yourself exactly what the photo would expose.

Stripped — and verified

To remove the metadata, each image is redrawn to a canvas and re-encoded. The canvas pipeline carries no metadata, so GPS, camera, dates, and colour profiles are dropped by construction while the pixels stay intact. Then comes the part most tools skip: Primova re-reads the cleaned file and confirms that zero metadata remains, so you’re not just trusting a promise — you can see the proof on each image.

Frequently asked questions

No. Inspection and stripping both happen in your browser — the photos, including any location data, never leave your device. That’s the whole point of a privacy tool.
EXIF and related metadata: GPS location, camera make and model, lens, capture date and time, software, orientation, and author/copyright. Re-encoding via canvas drops the embedded colour profile too.
After stripping, Primova re-reads each cleaned file and reports whether any metadata remains — you’ll see a “verified, no metadata” confirmation per image rather than having to take it on faith.
No visible loss. PNG output stays fully lossless, and JPEG/WebP are re-encoded at near-lossless quality (0.98), so the result is visually identical to the original.
Yes. Add as many images as you like, strip them all in one click, and download them together as a ZIP.
